FIRST LINER LEAVES
LONDON TO CENTRAL AFRICA
(British Official Wirelciss.) (Received 2nd March, 11 a.m.) BUGBY, 28th February. The now Empire air route connecting London with Central Africa was inaugurated by Imperial Airways this morning when a 9-ton Armstrong Siddeley air liner left Croydon aerodrome, carrying mails and freight for India and North and Central Africa. There were 50 bags of mail, containing approximately 40,000 letters.
