LONDON, 28th February. Dozens of parish registers in. Devon, have been .searched by Mr. Alfred Williams, a Newport attorney, for tho heirs o$ Mr. Thomas- Duckham, who died in Kentucky in 1851. He was the owner of vast acreages, from some of which oil is no # w being pumped; The'title reserved< tho mineral rights for Mr. Duckham, whose estate reputedly is worth millions. Tho attorney discovered that Mr.' Duckham's sister, Sally, had a daughter Hester, who married a Mr. Louis Lee, whoso son, Louis Thomas, died in 1916 at Snint Aubyjis, Tarna Bay, near Auckland. Mr. Williams says that tho searches rank Louis Thomas's brothers' and sisters' descendants among the claimants.
