ROSE WINS THREE MILE FLAT
100 YDS TO SIMPSON
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, 28th February. The New Zealand Athletic Ghampionfcips continued to-day in most unfavourable weather. Heavy showers, which •onimenced in the morning, continued throughout the day. Tho track was sodden and performances noticeably affected. Features of the meeting were: The 100 yards championship, in which 6. Simpson (U.S.A.) won in 10 l-ssec, and the putting the shot, in which llarlow P. Rothert smashed the New Zealand record with a throw of.46ft'din, which was B%in better than the New Zealand record. Rothert won the javelin throw with a; cast of 171 ft s%in, which was well under the throw of the present champion, S. A. Lay. R. A. Rose won the three-miles flat in great style. It was one o£ the most interesting races of the kind seen for many! years, being won by only l%yds. Results:—. PUTTING THE SHOT. Rothert.
