' The quarterly meeting of the Wel« lington Licensing Committea was hcllj to-day. There were present Messrs E< Page, S.M. (chairman), M.: A. Carr, B< Darroch, 1\ ' ileadowcroft, and W. I< Clark. . ■
The following transfers of licence"! ' were granted; Thomas WcathcrbiiTn to, ■ Frederick August Noilson (Dominion1 Hotel); Percy Herbert Hayward toj Robert M'Mullian (Foresters' Arm*' Hotel); Timothy Dominic Kellcher to, Thomas Weather-burn (Victoria Ilotel)^ Inspector Bawlo reported that Neil* . son and M'Mullian had each been con* victed for after-hours trading during the period of their temporary licences, Neilson was not fined, being only order* ed to pay tho costs. M'Mullian seem* ed quite inexperienced as . a hotel* keeper. He had frankly admitted alj the facts alleged by the police. Mr. Page: "Tho committee takes thej view in both these cases that it is, noli " a very good start, and one would havsj expected something different. The^j must take this 'warning that if thertj is any further trouble they inu'st not ex* poet, leniency from the committee."
