PIPE LINE TO MEDITERRANEAN

(British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, 10Ui February. Questioned in the House of Commons on the negotiations between the Irak Petroleum Company and the Irak Government on the pipeline which tho company proposes to construct connecting the Irak oilfields with tho Mediterranean seaboard, the Under-Secretary for the Colonies, Dr. Drummond Shiols, said that he could not say whether an agreement had ' been reached, and, though the company had negotiated agreements with the Governments of Palestine and the Transjordan, the final decision as to the construction of the pipeline must depend upon the outcome of negotiations with Irak. It is understood that the proposal is for a pipeline which would fork,, oho branch reaching tho sea at Tripoli, and the other near Haifa, in Palestine The agreement with the Palestine .Government was published laSt week in Jerusalem.
