AMATEUR RADIO HELP

(To the Editor.) Sir,—l would be glad if you will kindly afford me space to pay a tribute to; the Amateur Radio Transmitters of New Zealand, who have once again played a noble part in filling the breach caused- to our usual lines of communication by; the terrible calamity in Hawkes Bay. I write as one having some knowledge of the good work that these enthusiasts'. are quietly and consistently carrying out, that is little known to the thousands of people who owe them a debt of gratitude. That their equipment, services, and time are freely and readily forthcoming' in times Of distress is' now becoming more readily known. The value of radio has been brought very prominently before the public during the trying and anxious hours following the earthquake, and it is due in no small measure to the good work put in by the'amateurs, the pioneers of radio, that this wonderful aid to mankind is available. —I am, etc., ALBERT COMFORT.
