Lord and Lady Baden-Powell, who will arrive in New Zealand next week, will be the guests of the New Zealand Girl Guide Commissioner, Mrs. W. E. Wilson, at her home at Takapuna, during their stay in Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. Houston and family have arrived in. Wellington from England, and are staying with Mr. and Mrs. George Shirtcliffe, Tinakori road. •Mrs. Hugh Acland and her daughter, Miss Elizabeth Acland, , Christchurch, left by the Makura on' Tuesday for Sydney, en routeHo England. Mr. and Mrs. E. Gilbertson, Hobson crescent, have returried to Wellington after a visit to Botorua. Mr. and Mrs. Houston, senior, Napier, are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. George Shirtcliffe, Tinakori road. Mr. Ormond Blyth, London, who was also their guest, has left for Auckland, en route to England. ■ Miss Dora Warren, Riccarton, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington yesterday for a holiday! visit. Mrs. Dudley Kettle, Napier, is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Erie Eiddiford, Orongorongo', for a few days. ' Mrs. Evelyn Wright, Central terrace, is paying a visit to Christchurch. Miss Joan Gard 'ner| Christchurch, who has been , visiting Dannevirke, is now the guest of Miss Valeric Denniston, Lower Hutt. ' Mrs. Jack Terrier and her sister, Miss Nancy M'Dougall, Christehurch, arrived in Wellington yesterday for a visit. They* aro staying at the Hotel St. George. > , Miss Henry,l Wellington, is staying at the Grand Hotel, Auckland. Miss Erenda Kissling, Wellington, is visiting Auckland. Miss Jean Robertson has returned to Auckland after a visit to her aunt, Mrs. Marshall, Wellington; . ' Mr. and Mrs. P. S. K. Clark and/Miss Margaret Clark, Christchurch, have "returned home after a .visit to the North Island. \ Mrs. Wheeler and Mrs. L. Jones are Wellington visitors to Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Glendinning and family, Napier, are the guests of Mrs. T. Brice, Wadestown; Miss Laura Hughes, Sproydon, Christchurch, arrived in Wellington this morning. Mr. and Mrs. G. Wilson and Miss Madge Wilson, Wellington, are staying at Warner's Hotel, Christchurch. • Mrs. W., G. Eußsell and Miss Gwen Russell, Napier, are visiting Mrs. PyttJactson, Murphy street. ' Miss Lorna Inglis, Highland Park, returned to' Wellington on Monday by the Makura from a six months' tour of America. While in New York City she stayed with.her brother, Mr. J. B. Inglis. The engagement is announced (states an exchange) of Nancy, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Mae-lam-in, of "Waipuxa," Gisborno, to John Dow, younger son of Mr. K. S. Williams, M.P., and Mrs. Williams,' of Matahiia, Tokomaru Bay.
