BAND CONTEST

Delegates from the Port Nicholson Royal Naval Reserve, Tramways, and Mirainar bands attended a meeting of the Wellington combined contesting bands last evening and resolved to send a deputation from tho meeting to the executive of the North Island Brass Bands Association to-day to request that the contest, which was recently postponed for twelve months, should be held at the appointed time or a month hence.
