UPPER HUTT COURT
The monthly sitting of the Upper Hutt Magistrate's Court was held yesterday, before Mr. T. B. M'lfeil, S.M. Cyclists who rode their machines without lights after dark were fined as follows: W. Ralph, 20s; A. E. Scott, A. J. Webb, and S. G. Pepper, each 10s. Judgment for plaintiffs by default was given in the'following undefended cases:— Geange Carrying Co. v. J. B. Tyner, £5 0s 8d; P. D. Davis v. J. Woods, £9 15s; L. Kitchen v. ¥. Goss, £1 10s; A. Carroll v. J. Woods, £2 5s 3WA; N, Balliugcr v. H. V. de Rosa, £24 ISs 9d; Upper Hutt Borough Council v. F. Walkden, £10 ss; Upper Hutt Borough Council v. K. Lightfbot, £1 9s sd; Upper Hutt Borough Council v. W. Edlin, £5 11s 2d; Upper Hutt Borough Council v. E. C. Cooper, 12s 7d; Upper, Hntt Borough Council v. A. M'Arthur, costs only, £i 6s 6d. . - In judgment summons cases W. J. P. Howe was ordered to pay Johnston and Chine £20 Bs, at the rate of £1 per month; J. Chamberlain to pay V. C. Reed £7 11s Bd, by 20th February, or suffer seven days' imprisonment; A. B. Scholes to pay C. Benge £15 3e, at the rate of £3 per month, or suffer 15 days* imiprisonment,
