NAPIER TRAINS
MAIL RUNNING LATE
The mail train which left Napior | this morning for Wellington is running about an hour late. There are about 300 refugees on board for the following places:—Main Trunk, 38; Taranaki, 28; 'Palmerston North, 38; Wellington, 102; South Island, ,7; Wairarapa, 7; and balance for intermediate stations. No cot cases .aro on the train. : The railway line . from Napier to Putorino is not yet open, but it is hoped that the restoration of the Napier-Port Ahuriri line will be completed this week. Although passengers, parcels, and goods are being carried to Napier by rail as hitherto, it is desired by the .authorities that only those persons 'engaged on urgent business requiring .strictly personal attention should travel to the earthquake region meanwhile. Special arrangements instituted for the prompt delivery of goods and parcols by rail includes a service whereby consignments handed to the Department up to 6 p.m. will be delivered in tho Hfiwkes Bay shortly aftor midday! next day. I
