DELHI, 10th- February. Fourteen members of the household of the Indian Magistrate of Thoppampatti in tho Madura district of Madras were found murdered in mysterious circumstances during the ?veek-end. The victims are the Magistrate, his three sons, the wives of his two brothers and their four sons (three of whom, were infants), tho Magistrate's three granddaughters, and his father;in-law. His brother and two women were sent to hospital seriously injured. They say that they were suddenly attacked when sleeping, and the Magistrate's daughter was the only one who escaped. Hearing revolver shots she hid in her bedroom. A revolver was found by the Magistrate's side. . • Jt is reported that ho appealed on tho day previously for help from the police, as the lives 'of himself and his family had been threatened by un-known,-persons.
