Arrested in a busy part of A'cwloii ill; G p.m. yesterday, a woman whoso name was suppressed pleaded not guilty lu-day to being intoxicated while in charge nf a motor-car which was involved in a collision with a stationary motor-cycle. Evidence was given that there were three children in the car. Counsel pleaded lhat tho woman had had a serious illness. lie denied tho allegation of intoxication and produced a bottle of a compound said to contain a small proportion of alcohol which her doctor said ho did not think would affect her. The Magistrate, Mr. Woodward, said ho was quite satisfied that the woman was intoxicated. Ho convicted her and ordered her to pay witnesses' expenses. Tho licence was cancelled for two. years. I
