MEETING' ON MONDAY NIGHT

The aUiletic bodies ..in,.Pc.toriQ have organised a spo.rts meeting-.'to. be held at the Potbiio Oval next Monday, commencing at. 0.15 p.m., .'in. aid, of the earthquake relief fund. To ensure satisfactory entries being: obtained, the mooting arranged for Athletic Park,on the same evening has boon cancelled. Leading athletes and cyclists will be j competing at Petone, and tlioro should, be somq very ,; interesting contests. Among those taking part will be nienibers of the-'Wellington team for the Now Zealand championships at Dunedin. As a special attraction there will be a 440 yards contest between J. T. Fleming, New Zealand quarter-milo champion, and T. Pickering, Wellington 440 yards champion. Other events oii the' programme ,are: 100 yards, 220 yards, one mile, 880 yards, 100 yards ladies',' 440 yards ladies', relay, 440 yards men's relay, one mile cycle, three miles cycle, and a walk. No entry fee is being charged for any of tho events, and there will be no trophies. ,Entrios close at James Smith's mercery department.
