DOCKING AND RE-FUELLING
AUCKLAND, This Day. I The impending return from Napier of the cruisers Dunedin and Diomede and the sloop Veronica is indicated in messages received by H.M.S. -Philomel at Auckland. Commodore Geoffrey Blake advised that the Veronica is expected to arrive at Auckland at 7 o'clock or. Thursday morning, and arrangements to dock the vessel as soon as possible after her ar-rival-should be made. Although no direct message concerning the movements of the cruisers was received, tho fact that the Chief Postmaster at Auckland was advised to retain moil that could not reach them before to-morrow is taken as an indication that they are also to return. When tho Dunedin and Diomcdo receivod the call to-Napier they were about to sail for.Russell and thence to Australia, where they we re. to join with the Royal Australian Navy in manoeuvres, the Dunedin afterwards to proceed to England to refit. If these arrangements are to hold, it will probably he necessary for both vessels to refuel at Auckland before they resume their interrupted itinerary.
