RESIDENTS DETERMINED
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, 9th February. j The following statement has been issued by Mr. C. O. Morse, chairman of the Napier Citizens' Belief Committee: "Notwithstanding the enormity of the damage that has wiped out the business area of Napier, and considerably damaged a largo portion of'the residential property, the business men of Napier have determined not to rest until the town,.is one of the finest in the Dominion. "Order has now been established out of the chaos into which wo were thrown by tho upheaval, and the Citizens' Relief Comniitffce has now firmly established its organisation. Work is already proceeding smoothjy, effectively, and rapidly. "To those who came to our help wo owo a very deep debt, of gratitude, ami to thosn who have offered to help we accept the samo with profound thanks. "Wo shall remember New Zealand's motto, 'Onward,' and hope to bo spared tho strength to carry that motto out in its entirety. To all those around mo who are working so energetically and unceasingly, my sinccrcst thanks are due."
