NEPTUNE'S BARBER
PRINCE CROSSES THE LINE
(Ecceived 10th February, 11 a.m.) VANCOUVER, 9th February. '~ On the's.B. Oropesa, the Prince of Wales had a great time on Monday playing tho role of barber. In crossing the Equator Neptune radioed: "To our Royal brother, will board you in first dogwatch. Have all initiates ready.'' Neptune duly arrived in the ship's swimming pool. The Prince was the barber and entitled to "scrape 'em." Wearing a striped red and blue bath* ing suit with blue shorts and.yellowgreen bathing cap, ho wielded an enormous wooden razor, assisted- by his equerry, Major J. K. Aird, as barber's mate, "Soap'em." The Prineo had evident intense satisfaction in shaving Prince George. Viscount Ednam and the policeman brought George, the first victim, struggling violently, to Neptune, who accused him of disorderly | conduct. Then, amid roars of laughter, i tho Prince helped to force his brother into tho ducking stool. The barber's mate lathered him and the Prineo ! plied the razor. Then, seizing him by the heel, he toppled him into the water, where ho ducked him mercilessly. Viscount Ednam and twenty others met tho same treatment. . Tho proceedings closed with tha immersion of the- entire Court, including Nopti'Ti*. ""d th<» T^rW.
