GOOL BUT FINE
AUTUMN" WEATHER
A* fairly extensive an ti-cyclone still covers New Zealand. Since last night the centre has moved to a position off the East Coast of the South\ Island. Barometers, however, are still rather low to the north of the Dominion, honce south-easterly or southerly winds have continued to prevail.: These have been fresh at times about Cook Strait and on the East Coast of the North Island/ but have been light to moderate elsewhere. The southerly . wind has caused cloud and mist at times along the East Coast south of East Cape and in a few places there have been light showers. The weather, however, as a whole has remained fair to fine, with temperatures below the normal for the time of year. All the chief centres report similar fair to fine conditions as having prevailed yesterday, Auckland having a certain amount of cloud at times. Over Canterbury and Otago variable winds, with north-easterlies prevailing, are forecasted. Elsewhere winds will be southerly or south-easterly, generally moderate, but fresh at times about Cook Strait. Fair to fine weather may be expected to continue for the most part, but along the East Coast a certain amount of cloud and a. few light showers may be experienced. Temperatures will bo cool.
