This Week's Racing. Racing this week will bo conducted by the Taranaki and Duncdin Jockey Clubs on Thursday and Saturday, and by tho Kotorua Racing Club on Saturday. The latter club concludes its meeting on JVFouday. Don Jose Well. Jones. Trainer Convalescent. , The veteran Kicearton trainoi, X P. Claridge, who has been on the sick list for a few months, was out on the track on Saturday morning. From a Good Family. - Saltpot, who won tho Waipapa Ilandi cap at Hawera last Thursday, showed that he was coming into form by his platings at Levin, Marton, and Wellington. He ran a good race in the Trial Plato at Trentham, when he was beaten only by half a head by Jaloux. Saltpot is an Australian-bred three-year-old by Saltash from Thaisa (a half-sister to Lord Nola'n,; who won the Melbourne Curj), by Comedy King, who also v won the same event. Saltash (sire also of Strephon) is a greatgrandsou of the fatnous mare Sceptre, and was a good racehorse himself in England. Eaglot's Improvement. Since her win in the Anniversary Handicap at Takapuna last Saturday week Eaglet has gone on the right wny at Takanini. Last Thursday she beat Havaspot over six furlongs in Imin 15 2-ssee, one of the best gallops of the morning.
