" /,.- A Wellington Speedways official who watched the Interprovliicial. contests - at- Auckland on Saturday night states that .the telegraphed report regarding Mattson stopping In tho handicap race after Kllmister had fallen is liable to give a wrong Impression. ' What actually happened was that Kilmister fell In the eccondlap, and Matt/on fell during the following lap. Eight attempts were made to start tho match race in which Mattson ami Kilmister rodo together, the two .captains, of whom Maltson had the inside'position and was setting the pace, repeatedly getting away, too fast for the-other, starters. Eventually they got away together, and went out of the straight abreast, tut Kilmister then tnolc tho lead and remained in front till the finish, returning tho fastest time for the meeting. ■ ' -'.-■■'■
