EWES AND STORES
JOHNSONVILLE PRICES
Messrs. Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., report on annual ewe fair and store sale held at Johnspnville saleyards yesterday as follows:—We offered a record yarding of sheep, numbering 6132. The yarding comprised mostly annual drafts from farmers of the surrounding district. Generally speaking the sheep were not' in such good condition as last year. There was a very large attendance of the public —buyers being present from Masterton, Martinborough, Hutt, Levin, Waikanae, and the surrounding district. Taking conditions into consideration, good sale resulted. Competition for well-known lines of ewes was keen at up to certain limits, and we sold over 5000 sheep and lambs at auction. Prices, compared with those ruling at up-country sales, were firm, and for good lines showed an advance. We sold as follows:— Ewes: On account of Messrs.
