BIG DEOP IN INVESTMENTS
The weather was again line, for the concluding day of the Egmont Racing Club's Summer Meeting on Saturday, and the track was in excellent order. The attendance, however, was disappointing. The totalisator turnover for the day was £9852, as against £12,987 on the second day of the last Summer Meeting, which was held in December, 1920. The total investments for the two days were £20,----163 10s, compared with £29.799 in December, 1029, a decline of £9635 10s. This drop was much more than anticipated, as the previous meeting, at the changed
dates, was not, a success.1 The llawlces Bay disaster undoubtedly was the principal factor militating against the financial success of the meeting.
