TROTS AT ADDINGTON
HAROLD LOGAN'S RECORD
RED SHADOW IN RARE FORM
(Special to "The Evening Post.") CHRISTCHURCH, 7th February. The New Zealand Metropolitan TrotLing Club's Summer Meeting was favoured by bright sunshine; The attendance was not so large as usual, and the totalisator figures slumped, the investments being £20,035 as against £30,146 last year. The track was very fast, and some exceptional performances were registered. . ' , Harold Logan was responsible tor tuc outstanding effort of the day, covering the two miles in the Midsummer Handii'ap in 4min 13 2-ssec, and beating the previous world's race record, Pctcy Bingen's, 4rmn 18 4-Dsec, by more than five seconds. He gave a wonderful exhibition of speed when he started his final run half a mile from home, and was unlucky that his great effort gained him only third place. It \las a wonderful race from the time point ot view, as Regal - Voyage, from scratch,1; won in 4min 19 4-ssec, Lindbergh did 4mm 18sec for second. . This was not the only fast performance. Red Shadow covered a-mile .and a* half in 3min 16 4-ssec, exceptional time for a three-year-old, as Great Bingen's Dominion race record for the distance is 3mm 16sec. . . ■ : : Results were:— nesults: — Spreydon Handicap, of 350 soys; 3.33. class: uphoppled trotters: one mile and a halt. —7 Eileen .Wood, 12yds blid, inc. 12yds pen..
