' V.M.C.A., 292 for nine, declared, beat North Shore, 154 (Wensleyl 59, Cooper six for 21) and 132' for four (D.. Webb 53 not out, Wensley 38 not out). United Suburbs, 183 (Kerr 59, Scholium 46, Aitken three for 22), and 48 for two, beat Parnell, 83 and 183 for five (H. G. Vivian 108). University beat Eden on the first innings. For the former Pearson made 89, and for the latter Mills 68 not out. CHRISTCHURCH, Bth February. The eighth round of matches in the senior championship concluded on Saturday! in perfect weather. The wickets were in j excellent order. The leading teams for j the dhampionship now are: Eiccarton (14 points), West Christehurch (13), Lancaster Park (12), Old Boys (10). Old Boys scored a two-point win over East Christchurch. Old Boys lost six wickets for 344 declared (Mcrritt 159, Harris not out 150), and East Christchurch made 208 and lost nine wickets for 163 (Mullan 40, Mills 59). Merrit. took six wickets for 94. West Christchurch beat Sydenham on the first innings. West Christchureh made 254 (Ward 61). Bellamy took five wickets for 61. Sydenham made 127 and lost,eight for 154 (Oliver 64). Findlay took three wickets for 39. Piccarton beat Old Collegians on the first innings. Kiccarton made 270 (Stringer 44, Cox 83 not out, Dunet 44). Talbot took four for 37 and Cottrell three for 52. j Old Collegians made 202 (Talbot 47). Pow-! ell took four wickets for 58. St. Albans had ft two-poinj; win over Lancaster Park. St. Albans made 271 and lost eight wickets for 215. Lancaster Park made 133 (Cromb 61). Thonias took six wickets for 48. DUNEDIN, 7th February. Cricket matches were played in beau-, tiful weather. | On the first day of the Albion-Christian Brothers match the latter scored 69 and j Albion replied with 154 for four. Albion declared with this total and Christian Brothers in the second inuings made 185 (Blair 52, Brooks 37). Albion waß left with 102 to score in an hour for a threepoint win, and the runs were made in 53 minutes, Shepherd scoring 55 in 32 minutes. Blair took four wickets for 29. In reply to Old Boys' score of 135, Dun-, edin made ]33 (Dickinson four for 44 and Alloo four for 33). Old Boys (N. Cherry 70, Alloo 54). Old Boy 8 secured a twopoint win. On the first day oE the CarisbrookGrange match, Carisbrook had made 253 and Grunge had lost two for (54. Grange's innings closed for 166 (Knight 30: Dunning five for 52). Carisbrook, which secured a two-point win, scored 360 in the second inning (Allan 40, D. Smith 39, S. Smith 37; Lemin three for !)).
