(By Telegraph.—Press Association.), ■ HAMILTON, 6th February. That the Government should immediately raise a loan on the London market to adequately cover earthquake relief was suggested, by MJv W. J. "Polson, M;P., president of the New Zealand Farmers' Union, speaking at a big meeting of farmers at Matamata today. ■~."''■. . , , It was, he said, impossible to state what sum was needed, but he thought a committee of trustees should be selected from prominent men in Hawkes Bay, with Government, representation, to go into the matter/ The trustees should have the right-to-call in; harbour.and other engineers, town planners, and financiers, to arrive at a plan and direct the proper expenditure of money ._ The motion was carried1 unanimously.
