STATEMENT POSTPONED

TO BE MADE NEXT WEEK

In view, of the earthquake, the Prime Minister (the Bight Hon. G. W. Forbes) has postponed his statement on the economic position until next week.

Since tho disaster members of Cabinet have been giving practically their whole time to emergency relief measures and other matters requiring Government action, and six Ministers are on the scene of the catastrophe.

Several points in connection* with the statement have yet to be completed, but Mr. Forbes hopes to bo able to -nako an announcement next week.
