PARTY ON NAPIER TRAIN
Tho Napier mail train, consisting ott 19 carriages, left this morning with 10D refugees on board for Auckland arid 5E for Palmerston North. /There were thirty cot cases: —17 women ;and 13 menj. More refugees were to be -picked ,up ait Waipukurau. i . An official of Railway Department stated that there was sufficient rolling stock assembled at Napier to meet any possible contingency, but pre»sent advices were that .things wer<! quietening down there and becoming; more normal. i •■•.■• The new railway goods shed ait Thorndon has been set aside aa a clerking depot for refugees arriving in Wellington, and. arrangements ha/ye been made for i!the billeting'of people and the transport of injured cases to hospital. ,; j
