MORE OF BLUFF DOWN
RESULT ,OF SHAKE YESTERDAY
(By "The Post's" Special Reporter.) NAPIER, This Day. A heavy jolt at noon to-day brought down another good slice of the Bluff and levelled, shaky walls, but sufficient warning was given for all to get clear. x Efforts to-day were concentrated on moving women and children to the new camps. Telegrams are pouring in from ' all parts and from overseas, and postal officials are working under the greatest handicap. At the Hastings street school a full service'has been restored, but inquirers in Wellington should not be alarmed if replies are long delayed) for it is impossible for the authorities to deliver all telegrams, as the addressees are not now in Napier.i Several deaths from injuries at tho dressing stations occurred this mornr ing, but no names are available. The chaos of the first two days is giving place to more order, but the organisers have a_ terrific task which will not be eased until the town is evacuated. Tho only means of communicating instructions is by hand;written posters about the residential areas.
The smashed sewers in all parts of the town is the most urgent reason for evacuation, for it is impossible to apply chlorination . and disinfectants.
