SPEEDWAY CONTESTS

TO-MORROW'S MEETING

Speedway racing o£ a. very high order should be .witnessed at the Kilbirnie Stadium Speedway to-morrow night, when a. special feature, will be the appearance of six noted riders from overseas. "Squib" Burton, one of - the world's best "dirt track" riders, and England's best, is to be a competitor,. and one of his objects will be to establish new figures for this, track, as lie has done on all other tracks on which- he lias ridden in the Dominion. Burton's record-breaking performances have been amazing, and to-morrow night he will bo set the task of covering four laps on the focal track in time better than 76 seconds. He will also be right out to defeat the other overseas riders, among whom is Charlie Spinks, who has been seen in some exceptionally fine efforts on the speedways. . Spinks is a brilliant broadsider, and at the same time is a speed merchant, many records having stood to his credit. He will be a formidable opponent for Burton to-morrow night, and the pair should provide some very thrilling racing. George Greenwood (England), E. Whittle, H. Stevens, and S. Perkins (Australia) will be there to add to the evening's thrills and make overseas night a notable our. Other information regarding the meeting is published elsewhere in this issue.
