New Year's Day, leaving Wellington at 8 o'clock in the morning and running across the open water in the Strait in about an hour and a half she, should be at Pieton by 11 o'clock. Over three'bows will be spent by the steamer in the little Marlborough port, so that people who want to run to Blenheim and back in the special train arranged by the Railway Department in connection with the excursion, will have plenty of time. Others will no doubt prefer to spend the time in watching the regatta, in making launch trips about Queen Charlotte Sound, or in picnicking and seeing some of the beauties in the neighbourhood of the town. The Maori will leave on return shortly after 2 o'clock in the afternoon, arriving at Wellington about half-past five.
