CAT SPOILS MEETING
All the races had to be cancelled at the Nottinghamshire Greyhonnd Company's track at Long Eaton owing to a eat getting underneath an electric trolley which was being used to give the electric hare a trial run before the races started, says the "Daily Mail.* 1 The trolley, which was being used for the first time and cost £250, had only gone about 20 yards and had not got up speed, when it suddenly swerved and wrecked the track. The spectators, who numbered about 2000, were given tickets to admit them to a future meeting. After their departure a black eat was found under the trolley with its back broken.
