I Mr. T. B. M'JiTeil, 5.M.,. presided at the Magistrate's Court at Upper Hutt yesterday/ .' j Jack Bickeridge was fined £2 on eacri of two charges of working at his trade on a Sunday, in view of-a public place. On two charges of aiding and abetting him, Henry Stewart Weston was convicted and fined £1 and convicted and ordered to pay costs. For speeding, William Jury was fined ■ £3, and William Joseph Sounders £2 10s. : Judgment for the plaintiffs by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: H. W. Parsons v. J. Dansbyj £3 8s 2d; Savage Bros., Ltd. (in liquida-r tioii) v. 0. A. Browne, "£2 12s 2d; Hi Mnvshall. v. .Fred Quinliva.»i, £10; F. Cj Reed v. J. Chamberlain, £15 7s; Campbell Bros v. Ron Telford, £07 ISs Od; A, Carroll v. P. Wilkie, £3 Ss 3d. ; On a judgment summons F. Hoaie was ordered to pay the Wallace Motor and Tourist Co.. Ltd., £7 19s at the rate of £2 a month, in default eight clays' im«. prisonment; Albert Feiw, to pay R. J; Cotter £9 18s 5d forthwith, in default ten days' imprisonment. In the defended caso, Victor Hawkins v. Henry Brown, a clairii for £4 10s, judgment was'given for thfe plaintiff for the amount claimed.
