LINER EARNINGS REDUCED
LONDON, 9th December. The report of the Orient Steam Naviga- j tion Co., Ltd., for the year ended 30th June, 1930, shows that the net profit amounted to £336,666, as against £391,532 last year, and £420,748. 'The sum of j £50,000 is added to general reserve, compared with £125,000 last year; £25,000 to pensions reserve; and £101,340 is carried forward. A dividend has been declared on the j ordinary shares of 7Vs per cent., tax free, j !as against 12%. per cent, for the two previous .years. The directors also add that, "iv view of the economic difficulties in Australia, the 1 company must expect a serious reduction in its reveuue during the next few years."
