BOLTON STREET CEMETERY

, (To the Editor.) Sir,—As the City Council comes in' for a good deal of severe criticism—and perhaps deservedly so—may I per medium of your columns for once strike a different note? I would like to give a hearty word of praise to the council for the improved and tidy appearance to be noticed of late in the Bolton street cemetery. Through taking a live interest in the proposed tram route, I and others have paid several visits to the cemetery, and we have been pleased to notice how well the cemetery is being looked after. Then the cleaning of, and attention given to, the historic church in the cemetery is very gratifying to the members of the Early Settlers' Association. A bouquet, then, for the City Council.— I am, etc., EARLY SETTLER.
