FAIR TO CLOUDY
SOUTHERLY CHANGE DUE
A westerly low pressure wave has been moving on to the southern part of New Zealand, and barometers there havo fallen. An anti-cyclone, however, is still centred to the north of the eastern Tasmau Sea, and 'another anticyclone is now showing up over eastern Australia. North to west winds now prevail over the Dominion, and these have freshened somewhat in and south of Cook Strait. The weather has been, and still is, mainly fair and mild. Tho increase in cloud, however, has been, considerable, and a few isolated showers have boon reported from western districts and about Foveaux Strait. All tho chief centres have had fair to fino and mild weather during the last twenty-four hours. Moderate to strong winds from between the north and the west are forecasted to back to southerlies this evening in the far South. This southerly change should be in evidence all over the Dominion twelve hours later. Cloudy weather with showers developing may be expected in districts wtih a westerly aspect. Elsewhere the weather at first should remain fair to fine, but some showers may bo expected to accompany the southerly change. Mild temperatures will be followed by rathor colder conditions to-morrow.
