BROOKLYN INTERESTS
ELECTORS' ASSOCIATION
Matters affecting the district wers dealt with^ at the annual meeting o£ the Brooklyn District Municipal Elec« tore' Association held last evening. Mr. T. Graham presided. In moving the adoption of the' report, particulars of which have been, published in "The Post," Mr. J. I. Goldsmith reviewed the- work, of tha association and stressed the fact, that the executive had shown an interest in the welfare of the district. In the course of' a general discussion, it ■ was stated that the council was willing to erect conveniences ia Brooklyn, provided a suitable site Wro found. It was stated that the'council was sympathetic towards, the removal of the library, but did not favour building baths, in Brooklyn; .; ■•■ The report and balance-sheet were adopted. . - The election of officers resulted:—■ President, Mr. T. Graham;" vice-presi-dent, Mr. J. I. Goldsmith; secretary, Mr. J. Purvis; treasurer, Capi. S. Nicholson; committee, Messrs. G. TV. Slade, H. E. Wright, H. Bubinstien, ,G. Yates, W. Purvis, E. Gitting, M. M'Arthur, P. Palmer, and E. C. M'Caull. .In the course of a discussion o% municipal matters it. was decided no| to. affiliate with the Civic League. Th# view was expressed that if aicandidatt from Brooklyn were to stand for th# City Council it would be_ necessary fo* the association to affiliate with th# Civic League or the Labour Par.ty. 1^ was decided'that the matter of select* ing a candidate f pr. the municipal ele* tions be left in the hands of the incom* ing committee. ■
