Messrs. T. Potts and A. Coles, J.P.s, dealt ;vith eases in the Petone Court on Monday. For exceeding twenty-live miles an hour in the borough, Wilfred Maxey Clarry was fined £1 on each of two charges, James Douglas Aitken, Leo Brooks, Philip John Foster," Ralph Holden Wellwood Holden, Mabel Alice Marshall, George Lennox Francis Peirson-Webber, and William Joseph Kitching.were each fined £1; John Gordon Harcourt, Alfred Leon N. Gill, Alexander Butterfield Shaw, Nina Elizabeth Baxter, Alexander James Briden, Gohan. Narain, Claude Noel M'Donald, George Meredith, and Neil Charles Pharazyn, were each fined 10s, and Lionel Bennett Chalklen was convicted and ordered to pay costs. Warwick Edward Charles Gregory was fined 10s on each of two charges of exceeding twenty-five miles an hour. For driving at a greater speed than 15 miles per hour when approaching an intersection, Mary Elizabeth MaeEwan was fined £1. Joseph William Carr, Henry Herbert Higgins, Albert AValker, and Neville William Allan Newbold were each fined £2, and Kenneth Olivant £1 for overtaking at an intersection. Failure to keep a vigilant look-out when approaching a railway crossing resulted in Malcolm Rasmussen being fined £1. For cutting corners, Norman Charles Reeves, William Kenyon, Walter Joseph Ryan, William James Front, and Edith M. Davidson were each fined 10s. Judgment for plaintiff by default was given in the following undefended civil cases: R. R. Scott v. A. Wass, £9 8s; M. F. Pears v. W. F. Beck, £2.
