BANKRUPTCIES OF THE YEAR.

Reviewing returns for the first ten months of the calendar year 1930, the Government Statistician shows that there were 582 bankruptcies (421 in the North Island) compared with 562 for the corresponding ten months of 1929. Deeds of assignment numbered 188, or 43 more for this year, and of these 133 were for the North Island.
