All the galloping was done on the plough. ..:-.' Mason worked Praise, Jaloux, and Ilkley together the reverse way, but at only strong three-quarter pace. They look well. Nightmarch worked the reverse way. He beat Sight Draft over the first halfmile in 51see, and then went oil alone, completing seven furlongs in lrain 28 4-ssec. He did his work very well, and should be at' the top of his form at 'Auckland. This was all the reverse work. Paquilo covered nine furlongs in_ 1 rain 58scc, Shatter accompanying him over the last six furlongs. It was a useful effort, and Shatter showed no sign of soreness after working. Solvent dashed over three furlongs in 36sec, a smart performance. First Sight went six furlongs in lmin 17 2-ssec, and Coroner just.beat Craigavon over a similar distance in lmin 16 2-ssec, a useful gallop. Full Feather was given two short sprints, and looks well, as do Sharp Thorn, Straightcourse, Owl's Flight, and' Porloek, who will accompany him to the Manawatu and Wairarapa Meetings. Gustavo did two half-pace rounds, finishing with a half-mile in 53sec. He is improving. Count Cavour did steady work, with a brush home. Ho has been showing signs of shoulder lameness, and, though better this morning, is causing anxiety. For this reason his trip to Auckland is not quite certain. If he starts in the Auckland Cup Laidlow will ride Mm. Don Jose covered nino furlongs, the last seven of which took lrain 32sec. Ho moved freely, and is very well. . Silver Coot, "with Noteworthy and Pixie Gold, his mates for Manawatu and Wairarapa, did short sprints, Ravine, who looks well for the holiday racing, was given a morning working gallop.
