ISLAND BAY AFFAIRS
The monthly meeting o£ the executive of the Island Bay Municipal Electors As«ociation was held last week. The matter of a -fire station for Island Bay was referred to the association's works committee, with power to. act. The committee set up to deal with extra bathing accommodation on the beach, and the renewing of the bathing pier, reported having waited on the Bylaws Committee of the council. It was decided to send delegates to the meeting of the Wellington Ratepayers' Association on Bth December. Seven new members were elected to the association. A deputation from Volga street waited on the association with' reference to the drainage of this street; it was pointed out that the City Council had made a definite promise that this work would be done, and that money had been set aside on the estimates for the work.
