Mr. and Mrs. B. V. Peinbertoa liave returned to Wellington from the Bay of Islands and Kotorua. Captain and Mrs. J. S. G. Eraser, Bawhiti terrace, have left for Christehureh, where they will join Mr. and Mrs. 11. Cock for a motor trip of the West Coast. Miss Gladys Manchester, who has been spending several weeks in the | Xorth Island, has returned to Wainiate. 1 Mr. and Mrs. Todd, Glasgow street, will leave Wellington to-morrow night for the South Island, where they will remaiu till February. Mrs. Troup and Miss Ina Troup, Kelburn, will leave this evening for a visit to Eotoruu. Mrs. G. Cranby, Melbourne, is touring in New Zealand, and will spend several weeks in Wellington before leaving for the South Island. Mrs. T. Andrews, Palrnerston North, is paying a visit to Wellington. Mrs. J. Crawshaw, Christchureh, has returned home after a two months' visit-to Hawkes Bay. Miss Doris Haggitt, who has been the guest of Miss Muriel Frazer, Portland crescent, returned yesterday to Palmerston North. Miss Huteheh, Miss J. Brownloe, Miss C. Stowell, and Miss Meredith are among the Wellington visitors to Christchureh at present. Miss Maisie White, Hastings, who has been in Wellington for some weeks, will leave to-morrow for a 'short visit to Palmerston North. Miss Sheila Todd, Glasgow street, will leave to-morrow for ii visit to Auckland. Misses C. and A. Lawlor, Kurow, arc the guests of their aunt, Mrs. J. Lawlor, Island Bay. Miss Joyce Hamilton, Christchureh, arrived in Wellington on Saturday, en route to Wairoa, Hawkes Bay. A United Press Association cablegram from London states that SquadronLeader Charles Roderick Carr, the New Zealander who chrashed in the Persian Gulf in 1927 when flying to India, has became engaged to Miss Pliyliss Elkington, of Anicrshaui:
