Nadir Shah, King of Afghanistan, is confronted with a serious problem in Badakshan, the most northerly provinco of his kingdom, where a young Eobin Hood has arisen. He is Ibrahim Beg, a tribesman, who is terrorising the province with a force of brigands estimated to number from ten to sixteen thousand. The force comprises tho riff-raff of various tribes, and absconders from law. AH of the brigands are- fully armed. Many towns and villages have been sacked and th,e inhabitants are fleeing to Kabul.
