BOARD'S ALLOCATIONS
£20,000 DISTRIBUTED
As- a result of tho Unemployment Board's offer to local authorities of subsidies up to a total o.l! £25,000 on the basis of £2 for £1 as a special expediency measure for the relief of unemployment over the Christmas season, a considerable number of applications were received and considered.1 Up to yesterday, when tho board held its last meeting for this week, allocations amounting to £19,356 have been made by the board and approved by tho Minister of Finance. The board is only recommending subsidies on works carried out with niouey. derived from other than Government sources. The list of allocations is. as follows: —
