United Press Pictures. W. BROWNLEE, a much-travelled jockey, who has ridden in England, South Africa, India, Ceylon, Burma, and Singapore. This horseman arrived at Auckland on Tuesday by the Marama, and intends to apply for a jockey's licence to ride in New Zealand.

A DISTINGUISHED AIRWOMAN.— Miss Winifred Spooney, who crashed in the Tyrrhenian Sea, while on a flight to Cape Town. Shewas accompanied by Flying Officer Edwards. Both escaped without injury.
