PERSONAL NOTES

Lady M'Gavin, Wellington, left today to visit Mrs. Fitzhcrbert, ralmerston North. Mrs. M. Macdonaid, Hill street, left yesterday to visit her daughter, Mrs. Cameron, Beinuora, Auckland. Mrs. \V. B. Taverner and her sister, Miss Simpson, left last night for the South, in response to a telegram stating that their mother was dangerously ill. Mr. and Mrs. George Hamilton, Orari, South Canterbury, who have been visiting England, have returned to New Zealand. Mrs. W. J. Kerr, Carnoustie, Scotland, who is coming to New Zealand to visit her daughter, Mrs. Lan MacEwan, Palmerston North, will arrive in Auckland on 23rd December. Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Thomas and family, Kelburn, are spending the summer months at Seatoun. Mrs. M. J. Godby will arrive in Auckland from England by the Bangitiki on Christmas Eve, and will go to Christchurch to visit her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. M. H. Godby, Fendalton. Mias Marjorie Sheridan, Sydney, will arrive in New Zealand shortly, and will visit her cousin, Lady Ward, Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. J; Wiggins, Wellington, are staying at the United Service Hotel, Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. Stewart Storey, Christchurch, who have been for some time in England and Europe, returned to New Zealand by the Aorangi. Mrs. W. S. Cameron, Martinborough, is the guest of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Herdman, Christchurch. Mr. and Mrs. A. G. Copeland and Miss M. Copeland (Australia), Mr. and Mrs. C. Milner (Nelson.) and Mr. and Mrs. M. Anderson (Botorua) arc guests at the Hotel St. George.
