HOME-MADE MACHINE CRASHES
SECOND ILL-FATED ATTEMPT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Two young Aucklanders, Ernest and Arthur Edderson, who last year constructed an aeroplane which crashed on their first attempt to fly, yesterday attempted to get into the air with a second 'plane of their own construction. After taxi-ing along the Muriwai beach and gathering a speed of fifty miles an hour, the left, wing collapsed,' and the machine was completely wrecked.. The pilot, Ernest, was unconscious for threequarters of an .hour, and was considerably bruised. His brother was hurled through the side of the fuselage, and was also bruised.
