SPEEDWAY CONTESTS
«. . Quo of tlie conditions of the teams' contest to be held for the first time at the Kilbirnic Stadium Speedway to-morrow night is that in the event of riders falling or meeting with machine trouble none of tho special races will bo re-started. It is also laid down that competitors in the team events are to approach the starting point at not more than twenty miles per hour. Members of the teams are to race in pairs, and for this purpose the riders have been coupled as follows: Kilmister's team, 'Anderson and Palmer, Tonks and Ranby, Kilmister and Santi; Bishop's team, Wilkinson and Maugham, Harvie and Naylor, Bishop and Grove. The emergencies are Hunger (Kilmister's team) and Lucchesi (Bishop's team). There will be four competitors in each race, each one on one side meeting each on the other in a series of nine races, all of which should be thrilling. The contests are similar to those held for the League championship in England, and they are taking place to-morrow night for the first time in New Zealand.
