The estimated area of grassland to be harvested for Hawkes Bay certified perennial ryegrass this season was put down a short while ago as in the vicinity of 5000 acres, but (says the Napier "Telegraph") if the- present weather conditions do not show a change shortly, it seems likely that many farmers will not be able to leave their paddocks set aside for grass seed closed to the stock, and it is possible that tho actual area harvested may prove considerably smaller. Injuries to the left hand were sustained by L. P. Jamiesou, an apprentice engineer, living at 73, Sexton street, as the result of catching his hand in a planing machine at the Bailway Workshops yesterday- afternoon. He was removed to the Hospital by Ihe City ( Ambulance. ' J]
