MANOR PARK CLUB
Although the overflow of the Hutt river last week naturally did a certain amount of damage to. the Manor-Park, golf iinks, this did not in any way prevent play over the week-end, and a large number of members and visitors went as-usual. The course was in most parts covered with a fine coating of dry silt'the flood having subsided in a few hours. This deposit, however, is quickly being absorbed m the turf, and will ultimately do a considerable amount of good. Most of the damage was done to. the bunkers, but extra workmen have been engaged to make complete repairs during the week. On Saturday, an 18-hole bogey competition was held, resulting in three players returning a score of 2'down" These were Mvs. Butler, Brockett, and D. Porter. Ou Sunday, a 36-hole medal competition resulted in .a win for Alec Murray with the record score of 71-68 (139), reducing- his handicap by one stroke.
