PASSENGER DROWNED
A SUBSEQUENT. ACCIDENT

While motoring to Christchurch to attend his brother's funeral, Hurry Bra dwell, printer, of Lawrence, was drowned in a creek a mile north of Palmcrston early this morning. Prom the meagre details available, it appears that the car, which was driven by Colin Goodlet, of Lawrence, with the deceased arid a lady as passengers, ran into tho creek and capsized. Goodlet was not seriously injured and was taken to hospital in a semi-conscious condition. The lady was not injured. sister of the dead men, on hearing of the second fatality, set out on a bicycle to tell relatives at New Brighton. On the way her dress caught in a wheel, and she was thrown heavily, and. is suffering from severe injuries to the face and from shock.
