DURBAN, 22nd November. The weather was fine for the commencement of the M.C.C.-Natal match, and tha wicket was good. White was not playing' to-day owing to rheumatism. Natal in the first innings made 28S, Basterbrook (64) with Mackrory (28 nofc out) scored 78 in 68 minutes, for th« ninth wicket, Tate was unlucky in just missing the stumps. He was very dangerous, and took five wickets for 64; White took three,for 34. Marylebone has lost t,wo wickets £or 142. Wyatt is not out at 51, Hammond 75. An appeal against the light was upheld, and stamps were drawn.
